Jeff Goodman lists 40 games to catch this season
Fox Sports’ college basketball analyst, Jeff Goodman, has listed 40 games to catch during the 2008-09 season. Four Michigan State games occupy Goodman’s list (that’s 10% for anyone keeping count).
- #1 North Carolina vs Michigan State (December 3rd) played in Detroit
- #8 Michigan State vs Texas (December 20th) played in Houston
- #11 Michigan State at Purdue (February 17th)
- #17 Kansas at Michigan State (January 17th)
Goodman’s must-watch games are influenced by how high he is on the Spartans- he has Michigan State ranked #2 in his preseason poll.
Anyone who has followed MSU over the last few months, including two blowout exhibition games, knows that the Spartans have returned to an intense, quick-tempo style of play. The national and local media has a soft spot for Tom Izzo, who is one of the most respected coaches in the game. After a few down years, the media is eager to fall head-over-heels in love with this team. That’s not intended as criticism of the press or of Izzo, but rather to emphasize the point that the nation will be watching when Michigan State takes the court.
